Michael Chan is an award-winning filmmaker. He won the Jury Award under the Asian American category at the student Director’s Guild of America for his AFI thesis film, Marc Chung Protects His Address. Michael's stories focus on complex characters and draw inspiration from his own personal experiences both in the military and growing up in a broken home.

He graduated from the two most prestigious film schools in the world: the American Film Institute with an M.F.A. in Directing and the University of Southern California with a B.A. in Film and Television Production. He also served four years in the United States Marine Corps.
